I know my husband told him he should call. So it was setup to talk on Skype last night. What does he do? He doesn't call! He makes my husband call! My husband types "please call". He says my husband told him that we would call when we were ready! So already he screws that up! He just won't call! So he wins, my husband called.

Then he refused to apologize for hanging up on me. He says my use of profanity was offending him and he told me three times he had to end the conversation and just hung up. I told him several times to apologize and he refused. He is such an asshole. I can't believe he was allowed to procreate.

He is such a moron who just can't be trusted. His story constantly changes, and all I hear is "that's not what I meant". Rather than the truth. He tried to tell us several times last night that we heard wrong and they had said what they meant and told us several times and never got through to anyone. Like they weren't "pushy" enough. I think they had these conversations between themselves and thought by osmosis that we would magically know what they were thinking. I know he's lying; the rest of the family didn't hear what they claim they said either. But he couldn't tell me that. He had to tell me I was the one who was wrong.

He had to tell me I was the one who didn't make amends with them. Like listening to their BS and then giving them hugs isn't good enough? Well fuck him! He had to turn it around to make it my fault. He's such a dick head.

Ok, so it never dawned on him that he hadn't heard from us, that we were the only ones that didn't kiss his ass and make up with him, and he couldn't be bothered to call and find out why? Coward! Fuck him and the high horse his sorry ass is still on! He's a jerk!!!

God forbid anyone use the words "I think" and his son's name in the same sentence. You will get a nasty call from him saying that you are undermining his wife's parenting skills and they know what's best for him and you do not!! Ok, here's what really happened: first time grandmother just wanted to hold the baby!!! That's right folks. He chewed out his own mother for saying "I think he's getting fussy and done with dinner. Come to grandma's arms!" Yep, first time grandma just wanted to hold the baby.

Then, they consult a religious book that says they shouldn't throw their child a first birthday party because it will overwhelm him to be the center of attention! So they "struggled" with whether or not to throw him a party.

We weren't invited to birthday #2. His excuse was that it was our anniversary weekend and he was not going to call. So that will be his excuse every year. He's a lousy excuse for a human being ever since he became a father. No one is good enough for his children. Yes, he now has two boys. God help us all.

I hate him. If I wasn't married to his brother it wouldn't bother me at all not to see them again. They caused way too many problems and don't deserve what they've been given. They were offended at our gift of a savings bond. And then he tells me they're not good with words. Well duh, obviously. The letter he wrote last year is full of shit. Told us all that they told us these things, and no one remembers. All in their heads!

They're lousy people. Christians at that. Though they claim to be. Doesn't bother him that they weren't invited to things going on at my house, but then why did he bring it up? He's just hurting his brother by not inviting us, not me. But he doesn't care. He doesn't care who he hurts. He just defends his family. What a crock of shit. He's a lying bastard!

Stupid Employee

Dammit! Tomorrow night will be the hardest thus far. I had come home last week from school to my mom at my house, my husband waiting for me at the door to give me a hug and say two words I never thought I'd hear so soon: "Angel died".
She was only 8. The last dog I had as a kid lived to be 13. Both German Shepherds. I had to know why she died so young. The autopsy said she had a small heart and thicker heart muscles, so the heart had to work harder to pump blood. It was just a matter of time before it stopped for good. This is a condition common in cats, rare in dogs.
If you ask me, my dog didn't have a small heart, she had a big one. She loved everyone she met and quickly made friends with all the neighborhood kids - those in our old neighborhood and those in our new.
She loved to play. When my husband and I would come home from work, we would get our 5 minutes of fame from a tail that wagged the dog. Then she would run to find a toy as if to say, "You're home now, time to play!"
She was well traveled and loved to go for rides in the car. She was very smart and knew a lot of words. My husband and I had to resort to spelling words, just like you would for a small child, so we would not rile her up too much.
She loved her ice cream. Many trips to Ritters, and most recently this summer, to McDonald's.
The house is quiet when we come home now. Her toys lay scattered throughout the house; as I am not ready to move them. Her leashes, backpack, harness and seat belt still hang in the back room. Her snow boots are in the laundry room in the cupboard. One dish is now water for the cat. Her food dishes remain empty. We free cycled her food, as we had just purchased a new bag the week before. I couldn't see it going to waste when so many others could use it.
I remember saying goodbye to her that morning. She drank my leftover cereal milk and hopped back up on the couch. I miss her so much. The house is quiet and I have no one to be home for. All the little things we don't have to do anymore - let her out, be home, take her for walks - I miss already.
I'd rather have those minor inconveniences and have my dog back then to not have her at all.

Just call me Gracie

Well this was not the start of a good day, but turned out to be much better. This morning, when my alarm went off, I decided to do my husband a favor and let the dog out so he could sleep. She was ready to go out and wouldn't wait until after my shower. So halfway down the stairs, I slip on the carpeting and go crashing down to the second to last step, then had to scoot on my butt to the first step and then to the floor. I yelled for my husband, because my foot was swollen and I had heard a loud "crack/snap" before I finished falling. I had also seen my foot in a direction it wasn't supposed to be in. That kind of scared me. So after calling my mother-in-law, who is a nurse in Ohio, we headed to the ER in Novi. Called my mom along the way, who said she'd pick up a shower chair for me, because I knew I couldn't stand up at this point long enough to get clean. So in the ER, we got a wheelchair for me right from the start, because walking would have been painful and taken all day. Didn't wait too long in the room, and the x-rays were done by the time my husband had to leave to take the dog to the vet.

The doctor came in shortly later, or should I say, meant me in the hallway where they left me, and told me that I had, in fact, broken my ankle bone and fractured another one. Wonderful. But I have some Vicidin to take and an appointment with a foot doctor recommended by the hospital to put my foot in an actual cast. Meanwhile, I have a splint made of fiberglass on that can't get wet or have weight on it or it will crack.

For three or four weeks I will have a cast, depending on how long it takes for the break to heal. Let's see what's going on in the next three to four weeks: I am leaving my current job next Tuesday and start my new job the following Monday; my husband starts his new job on Monday; I start classes again the beginning of April; our friends from Australia are coming in for Easter until April something; we have a wedding April 5 in Ohio; I have Altar Guild meeting minutes April 7; I'm on Altar duty Easter morning 7:00am, Easter Sunday in Ohio, and the day before in Novi. In short, this was not the greatest of timing.

But, like I said, my husband got a phone call today and an offer for a position about 10 minutes from my new job. So he will have steady income again, and we can carpool. I just worry about our dog being home alone for almost 12 hours a day, as compared to 10 hours she was, and now with my husband at home, she wasn't alone all day. We'll work something out. We were both thinking the neighborhood kids could get paid to check in on her, and there's also Camp BowWow, down the road from my work.

A vacation of a lifetime/New job

We are headed to Australia today, thanks to friends that are living there for a couple years. I can't wait. Which reminds me, I need to set my vacation email. Ok, that's done.

I have also recently turned in my resignation, and am starting over. It's time. I haven't been happiest where I have been in a very long time. Whether it be employees that drive me crazy or not enough work to do, I am ready to move on. I have another position higher up, in management, that I am looking forward to. The benefits are awesome, and I already know my boss from my soon to be ex-employer. I prayed about this, and God heard me. I am truly thankful.

Pet housing crisis

I recently read about the newest victims of the mortgage crisis - pets. It surprised and sickened me that people who have lost their homes, leave their pets in there to die - cold, alone, and hungry. How could you do that to your pet? Even people who have had their animals for years have done this. Their pet was not the cause of their foreclosure, and how could you do that to them? They know you, you are the center of their universe, and they wonder where you went and why you left them alone. They die, longing for you. How could a family do that? I've heard that the people don't want their pets to be at a shelter where they will be put down. So the alternative is a slow, painful, lonely death for their pet. How much sense does that make? My pets are my life. My husband knew that coming into the marriage and they have grown on him too. Our dog is so smart and knows so much English, it's scary. I hate leaving her alone during the day while I work, or when we go out, because she always looks so sad that she doesn't get to go along. I couldn't imagine turning my back on her and leaving her behind. I would gladly take in any animal that needs a home, even if temporarily, but I beg you, please do not do this to your pet. They are your family and should be treated as such.

Work stinks

What can't I say about my job this time? I am so tired of this member loyalty training and sales training and more training that I want to hurl. Training, training, training. That's all we do. I have to spy on my employees and coach them on how to talk to people like a robot rather than have a real conversation with the person on the other end of the line. I hate being a supervisor. Middle managment gets all the crap and none of the benefits. I don't want to stick around anymore, but I really should finish my degree first.

I am in accounting. Accounting does not have the benefits of being face to face with a member to sell them something. We are problem solvers. All the time, the answer to the question is "call accounting". I get none of the benefits of my boss, who as senior management gets a wonderful bonus of cash at the end of the year, while all employees simply get a visa gift card of $50 or $100 depending on how long they've been there.

Jena 6

Let's set aside skin color for the moment. Illegals should not be allowed to cross, make money and send it back home.

There will not be enough Social Security when my generation begins to retire because we are just handing it out to every foreigner who enters this country. I have privy to see many children's accounts who have Social Security going into their account and have both parents. Why should they get free money because they don't speak English, and 15 or more live in one house? Why should they live off us? That isn't fair. If they don't learn the language and get a job to support the economy and pay taxes, they shouldn't be here. Everyone knows that good ol' Rev Al and Jesse Jackson are both racists, why are they not held to the same standards? Don Imus apologized, a suspension was enough, not a firing. People overreact today like you wouldn't believe. Imus should sue CBS for wrongful termination due to freedom of speech. I guess we can't say the word "nappy" anymore (at least white people can't) because black people will have a hissy fit, after all, it's a word that refers to their HAIR, nothing else.

I'm not a racist, but I am tired of affirmative action and people of other races not being held to the same standard. We can't say the "n" word, (the older "n" word) but how many times do you hear it spewed from the mouth of black people, all in the name of hip hop music and freedom of speech?

I am glad affirmative action in the state of Michigan is gone. I know that I can't get into U of M Ann Arbor on my grades alone because I will be trumped by some minority who doesn't have to work as hard to get into the 7th best school in the country. Mary Sue Coleman has to look at the state taxpayers who fund her salary and see that more than 80% of them said no more affirmative action.

It was a good thing back then when times were different. Now that black people are equals, there is no need for any program that looks at their skin color before making a judgment call. Maybe someday we will truly get past those labels and look at the person.

I think Martin Luther King Jr was a great man. He fought for the rights of black people, and he did so PEACEFULLY. He marched, he organized sit-ins, and look what he accomplished in the years he was here. Amazing, isn't it? What a novel concept, to do something without rocking the boat and get it done right. Some people still can learn from him.

On vacation

I am on vacation and bored! And it's turning out to be not so great anyway because Monday night I started to get a sore throat that is still here and it's Thursday. So I haven't got much done. I don't want to go back to work though. It's peaceful around here, not thinking of anything that should be done when I get back. I don't want to face my coworkers, neither of which have an education past high school and that makes for little understanding of accounting in general. I wish my boss would have hired people with at least an Associates Degree. Educated people are quieter (unlike the one person) and definately smarter (unlike the other). It could be worse - they could be harder to handle, but in the beginning the not so smart person that replaced my old position, every time she went on vacation, I had to reteach her what she had forgotten while she was gone a week. The other one doesn't stop to take a breath before interrupting you and telling you what you're saying before you finish saying it even though that might not be what you're talking about. Then you have to stop and wait for her rant to finish before you can start again. I hate working there and working with them. I went on a job interview Monday morning, and I'm hoping I get the offer. I have the experience, but for some reason or another have not left my current employer. I like my current boss, I just don't see myself in her position when our president retires and she may move up. She may not, in which case, I am still stuck in my position, where stupid won't retire for 7 years, and loudmouth for another 15 years. I can't wait that long. I'm normally not this judgemental, but I really can't take it there anymore. It's hard to put up with day after day. I want more of an accounting challenge and less of a supervisor challenge. The position I applied for is a supervisor, and I don't believe it's upper management, but at least their accounting people need knowledge of what they do.

Either way, if I don't get the offer, I will put away my looking for a position until I am finished with my degree. Then another option is a move down to Arizona, which I would love to do. I hate winter. I'm one of those people where if the weather was perfect all year round, I wouldn't miss the winter one bit. I need to do something different with my life, I just don't know what. I'm stuck in accounting, and realize I don't have the resources to pursue anything different, but then again, I don't have the interest either. Not now, anyway.

Winter is Depressing

Ah, I don't have a lot of time tonight. Just some random thoughts. I'm one of those people who gets depressed in the cold weather. I don't really care for it. As much as I love my new house, I would rather be in AZ where it's nice and warm.

I'm wondering now how much longer I want to stay at my current job. I like what I do, but the environment is changing, and I need to move on. I still need auditing experience for the CPA license, so I should move on at any time. I know that supervising is probably not for me and not worth the money any longer. I supervise two people - nice to work with, but a loudmouth and a not-so-smart person. I can't stand it much longer. Looking at the big 4 accounting firms, they're not really hiring entry level where I am. Maybe I will have to deepen my search for one of the top 10 firms instead. But, now is coming up on the busy time - tax season - and I may not be able to get proper training just yet. I know my options. I have a few. But I made it to 10 years at my current position; that was my goal. I'm still a year and a half away from my Master's Degree before I can take the CPA exam. And I can't really afford a pay cut right now. Ah, what to do.... Monster.com doesn't help. I can't seem to get past Robert Half Accounting/Finance to get any one of my company positions looked at.

New House

I love my new house! I thought I wouldn't at first, but I do, right from the start. I'm still learning my lack of kitchen cabinet space and that is reeking havic on where to put things, but other than that, I love my house. It's a quiet neighborhood, and now that I'm ok taking the expressway to and from work, it's an ok drive. Ask me after the winter storms hit and see if I'm still ok with it. I hate driving in the snow and bad weather. Even when I've been there alone during the day and at night, it's not creepy. I'm not hearing noises and seeing things that aren't there. My poor dog though. She's been hitting her "thumbs" on something and they've gotten so raw they've been bleeding. So we're treating those with neosporin and bandages. We still have a lot to put away, and I keep finding pictures to hang or put out. I didn't realize I had so many! It's my obsession though. Different kinds of picture frames, personalized ones, etc. So we're finding places for those. And we added a laundry cabinet to our laundry room, which is basically a walk through from the house to the garage. That's what I'll miss, is laundry space, but we're working on that too. The clock I bought from AZ is hanging above the mantelplace, beautiful. Cost a lot of money that it took 1.5 years to save up for.

I need to create something to let people know our old house is up for rent. We have it pretty much cleaned out and cleaned up, so it's in move in condition. I hope we get good people in there for quite a long time. It would be nice to have the extra income and/or tax breaks for awhile while we adjust to the new costs of the new house. Already I am upset at our current mortgage company. But that is another rant, another day.

OJ Simpson

Well Fox news has completely lost my support. OJ Simpson has gotten away with murder and now trying to write a book saying "if" he killed his ex-wife and her friend, then here's how he would have done it. What a bunch of garbage. He is flaunting the fact that he got away with it to everyone who knows he's guilty. If there are details in that book that only the killer knows and someone originally on the case buys the book, they need to get themselves on the witness stand in the family's civil defense trial and take him for everything he has. The very thought of him and his book makes me sick. What a jerk. I hope he rots in hell someday for that. Let's say he really didn't do it, it is not PC to write a book about it, saying "if" he did it. I will think twice before turning on the Fox network again.

That trial was so botched from the start. Anytime someone that is rich and/or famous is said to have done wrong, the case against them suffers because everyone walks on eggshells and makes sure that the criminals like him are treated with respect and aren't treated like the criminals they are. First sign he's guilty - the white bronco chase scene. Why run if you really didn't do anything wrong? That trial was a joke right from the start.

General Feelings on the house

I'm feeling down. I have been for a little while. It's probably a lot of things: weight gain, colder weather, inbetween houses, bad memories, the list goes on. I hate being inbetween things, and owning two houses and being in the middle of a lot of boxes is hard. We still have a lot to pack, and not a lot of boxes. So there will be many trips of emptying out at the new house and bringing back to the old to repack. I have until January when winter classes begin to get situated,
and then it will be one box at a time. I worry about my dog, whom we won't be able to let run in the backyard freely. We have the invisible fence, but won't be training her until spring. She loves to run and I worry she won't like being on a tether every time she goes outside. We'll have to make due. I worry we won't be able to afford the house. I want to be a landlord for a while, hopefully to have some extra funds. Our current home doesn't need a lot of big maintenance. Hardly any in fact. So we could have some extra funds and get down to one mortgage instead of three. Then we'd really be ok. I have been trying not to think about all the future things we'll miss out on if we're not careful - parochial school for our future kids, family vacations, etc. But I think I'm thinking too far into the future. We won't have all the extra cash we do now, but we'll be ok.

Extreme Muslims need to chill out!

Take a pill and swallow it. Why are we catering to the uneducated extremists who don't like what the pope said? All they teach is violence if someone offends them. All they want is the death of all Americans and non muslims everywhere. What kind of life is that? I remember reading an article about a husband who was so proud of his pregnant wife. After she gave birth, she was going to be a suicide bomber. Her culture said she couldn't harm the baby so she had to wait. Good God! What is this world coming to? I'm so excited. And nervous. And a whole bunch of other feelings too. But the deal is done. The house has been marked "Sold" and we're going to have no trouble getting financing. It's a bittersweet thing. I feel better now that we have potential buyers/renters of our current home. But if that doesn't work out, it'll be on the market for months. I'll miss the house too. Lots of memories, but mostly not good ones. Lots of storage space, but not big rooms. Our new house has the same amount of land, but the house is bigger. The only drawback is we're not on city water/sewer, but I'll manage. Our realtor is already talking about us calling him in 1o years when we're ready to move again! I am not for that. The only thing I wanted that wasn't available was the 4th bedroom. But we have a den. And I'll miss our laundry room space, but we'll manage. There's only 2 of us right now anyway. But it doesn't matter the size of the house, I'll still have my dog and cat following at my feet wherever I am!

I'm voting Democrat this time

I have seen and read a lot over the past year or so and I am tired of Republicans. I am tired of all politicians in general, but Republicans are the worst. I am for the people. I am for helping our fellow people. I know that some people will abuse any system you give them, but rich Republicans have abandoned the common man. I have read recently that having experience and know-how was trumped in rebuilding Iraq to Bush loyalty. You had to be loyal to the administration and their beliefs or you didn't get the job. What a bunch of crap. And you can't sue them like you can sue any other employer who would try the same garbage. It doesn't matter that the current Bush administration lied to us about WMDs, or everything else, I guess people can put up with that as long as his views on gay marriage and abortion are in line with theirs. I look at it this way - stay out of another person's life; it's not your business. I can live with people who have abortions and same sex marriages. God can deal with them; it isn't my place to judge. However, lying about WMDs and our troops are dying over there, is untolerable. That country is so screwed up over there that if we were to pull out now, it would be a disaster. Terrorists would run in and take over and kill everyone who didn't agree with them. So we should stay. But how we got there is the biggest lie. I support our troops the best that I can and I believe others should too. They were given an order and they went. When was the last time you followed an order? But oh no, Christians can apparently handle being lied to as long as we don't allow gay marriage or abortion. While I didn't like what Bill Clinton did, like he's an angel yeah right, we did well under his administration. And Republicans keep taking away our rights as free people all in the name of 9/11. We can't even carry lip gloss on a plane anymore, our phones are tapped, and all this without approval. Bush is power hungry and needs to be removed from office. I don't care if the war is still going on in November. I'm voting Democrat.

Work

Here I am, bored again at work. TGIF holds a lot of meaning when you have nothing to do. On off quarter months, I finish my work within 7 business days of the month, and don't have enough left for 8 hours of work every day for the remaining days in the month. This is ridiculous. I went to another department and will learn additional things to keep me busy for the next 2 weeks, and my boss is on vacation at the end of the month, so I might be ok to make it through until the quarter end month. I have an employee gone next week, so with just the two of us, I might have a little more to do. There were times before I was promoted that my coworker would call in sick and I would have all her work and all my work done by 10:30 and not have anything else to do. After being promoted, there have been a few times both my employees have been off, and I've had to do all their work and mine and still had an hour or so available at the end of the day. My husband says I'm too efficient. My boss says to slow down and pretend that I am the final check of my work and not her.

In October, I'll have 1o years here. One more Tiffany gift, and one more week of vacation, making it 4 total for the year. If we end up moving, I'll be here until then so they can pay me for the accrued vacation I haven't taken. There's much I have to do/look into before I leave. I want to learn new things, but most of all, I want the management perks - the bonuses, early Fridays, salary pay - give me all that, and I'll do my CFO's job. I want the perks. I hate being left out and put in my place because I am just an employee. Title is everything here. Always has been. If you don't have a title, you are nothing.

School

I hope I pass my tax class. That's all I can say. I read, and my mind goes wandering after 10 pages. I should be studying now while I have nothing to do at work. Or the words are just words on a page and have no meaning. I have a lot of trouble concentrating on school. I don't like it, but I'll need it to stay ahead. By the time I turn 40, if I didn't have a graduate degree, I couldn't compete with today's kids. And I've only been out of high school 9 years. I feel as if I'm falling behind. I wish I could retain more. But there's so much I'd rather be doing instead - yard or house work, caring for my animals, talking to my husband.... life is out there, and I don't want to miss it.

This class should be easy enough, but I'm not retaining any information. The quizzes for each chapter are at the beginnning of the class before we discuss the chapter. A 40 page chapter and the quiz has at it's least been 2 questions. I have gotten them both wrong. The classes are long, 4 hours once a week, but he's a great instructor letting us out early. Most times I have left on break, because I've taken the quiz and read the chapter and don't feel like listening to him lecture. I'm spoiled this term. Next term, in the middle of summer, I may not be so lucky.

If we end up moving, I'll see what classes I can take from afar online, and if I have to switch colleges to finish. But I've always wanted to graduate from this school and I finally get the chance. If we move, it won't be a big deal, I will finish regardless of where we're at. If he's happy with his work, then I support that. I'll follow him, because the only way to make more money in my career is to be management, and I don't think I want that.

Ex-husbands

I just have to say something about my coworker's ex-husband. The guy is a complete jerk. And that's being nice. He will go out of his way to upset and inconveinence his ex-wife. Today, he was supposed to pick up his kids for the weekend. His own son headed out of the house because he didn't want to go with him. His daughter, though, won't stand up to him. She had told her mom that her dad should drop her off at our work so that my coworker could have her car for her ride home tonight. Well dad, being the asshole he is, made his daughter drive her mom's car up and drop it off at our work, and she had to rollerblade home. He would not come here to drop off the car. Instead, there aren't any sidewalks on the busy 3 mile trek rollerblading home. If she were to get hit by a car, he would blame his ex-wife. The guy is a jerk. At her age, I had already told my father enough was enough and I wanted nothing to do with him. Someday, I hope she learns that. Here her mother is buying a used car for both kids to use, and it's going to be a disaster. Her ex will now say her kids can drive to see him and that they had better because he no longer needs to come and pick them up. It's over an hour to his house.

From the things that myself and the other member of our department have been told, I cannot believe him. Granted, she isn't the person I would want to live with either, but as a single mom, I think she's doing ok. Watching every penny, making sure her kids have stuff. And her ex just retired from a $300K a year job, and barely pays child support for thier son under 18. As soon the daughter turned 18 he went to court to stop child support on her. She's still in college, but I guess Michigan doesn't abide by that. He calls himself a good dad, but I think he's dilussional. If she could just afford an attorney to represent her and take him to the bank. I also hope her kids also realize and one day will get tired of his shit. I know I couldn't possibly put up with hearing my dad call my mom nasty names and think he's always in the right and she's not, and what a joke. I gave her some tax advice because he claims them on his taxes and does not provide 50% of the support for them. I will have to bring in my book on Monday. He constantly puts his kids in the middle. He even wanted his son to come live with him after he bought his farm and his son said no way because all I am to him is cheap labor. That's all he wants me for. Nice, huh?

He even called his son just to tell him he thought he was worthless and never going to amount to anything, and he was such a loser. And the son had the speakerphone on because the cordless was dead and all his son's friends heard exactly what dad had to say. What a jerk.

I hope she's able to take him to the bank for all the crap he has put her and her kids through. Enough is enough.

The Davinci Code

First off, I haven't read the book. It became just a fad so fast that like the pogs, tickle me elmo and furrbies, I waited. Now the big thing is Sponge Bob. I think I'll continue to wait.

If your faith is so weak that it's going to be changed by a simple movie, by all means, go see it. Hollywood's version of events they weren't there for 2000 years ago are obviously all true. (Sarcasm). I've seen the reviews of United 93. I won't see that movie simply because that was a tragedy I lived through and there is nothing glamorous about tradegy.

Anyway, back to the rant. The Catholic Church is very much against any Christian seeing this movie. However, I vaguely remember reading that one of the movie's stars even said it's nothing but hooey and Hollywood entertainment. I am not Catholic, but do attend church. Our substitute Pastor said in his sermon this morning that Hollywood is trying to say that Christ was not divine, and He was married and had children and all that is not true, and we know that because Christ died for us. Like my mom says, even if He was married with children, that still doesn't change what he did for us - suffer and die. She has a point. My faith is not changed my a simple Hollywood movie. I would think it would be an entertaining view of what could have happened, but nothing more.

You know what my favorite book is next to The Left Behind series and the Christian faith series by Kathryn Kingsbury? It's "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal". Now, come on. That's one entertaining story. I laugh my butt off every time I read it. And I think I've read it 7 or 8 times in the last few years. But even I know it's fiction.

I'm strong enough in my faith not to be tempted by Hollywood. I tell you what. if Christ had a family, or even a childhood best friend, makes no difference to me. When I get to Heaven, I'll ask him.

Patriot Guard Riders

Something I still have on my personal AIM profile: I find it so disrespecting and so dishonorable for a group of so-called Christians to protest a miliatary solider's funeral with chants of hate that God hates America because we embrace homosexuals. Shame on this minister and his entire congregation for preaching hate. They say that God hates us so much for embracing homosexuality that a solider's death in Iraq is his own fault. What is this world coming to? I can't wait for that minister to meet his maker only to be sent to Hell for preaching the opposite of the Bible.

The Patriot Guard Riders are a group of people on motorcycles that carry US flags and attend military funerals to muzzle the sound of the protestors. Thank God for them. No family should ever have to go through that kind of garbage at the loss of a loved one fighting for our country.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of this war, pulling out before we are finished puts many lives in danger. Al Quieda is waiting for us to leave before they strike the new Iraqi government and the country falls back into terrorism. The US people can't have it both ways. Those that protest the war and the fighting are the same people who will say, at the immient death of the Iraqi people, that we didn't do enough to help the people. Like throwing money at them is going to solve the problem.

Thankfully, Congress passed a law - in almost record time I bet - to stop protesting at funerals within 500 feet if I remember rigtht. There is no need for people to actively preach hate. If you don't like this country so much, you know how to LEAVE. No one is stopping you; that's the beauty of the United States. You are free. Try taking your biased, hate crazed messages to any other country in the world. You wouldn't make it a full day.

Home Depot

Here's a good one. Our salesman kept saying this was a $4 Billion a year company. Well, for $4 billion a year, you'd think they would take better care of their customers. My husband and I hired Home Depot to redo our bathtub (another long story) and decided to go with them because we got on the tail end of their no interest or payments for 12 months. Our salesman kept saying a $4 billion dollar a year company like Home Depot is going to be worth it. Ha! This was towards the end of July, 2005. He got us a credit card that night, and approved for the no interest or payments for 12 months.

Well I got my card in the mail, went online, and set everything up online - to receive statements, to get general emails, to register my card. My first statement I got through the mail in November. I made a $10.00 test payment to see how it would come through my account. Worked fine. Didn't notice the bottom of the statement, which had us on the 6 months, no payments or interest plan. Trouble begins.

Got a December statement, then a January statement. Didn't think about it, but I didn't get anymore statements. My husband and I talked last night about paying it off a month before it was due, and then seeing where we were financially. Well this morning, I got an email reminder that my statement is available online if I hadn't known that, and that I could view my balances, etc., at any time. I didn't think much of that because I had been dealing with the account online. But it reminded me what my husband and I talked about and I wanted to check online to see if it told me when the 12 months was up. I didn't remember, and the salesman said the no payments would start 30 days after the job was completed. Which wasn't July.

I looked online and saw my balance was over $5,000. It should have been $4,613. So I thought, I didn't purchase anything, does someone have access to my account?. I looked at the statement, due MAY 2, and we were charged $434.17 in finance charges and had a minimum payment due of $106.00! So immediately I called customer service, which is a frickin oxymoron in itself, and they said, we have you on 6 months no payments, no interest, didn't you read the bottom of your statement? Bitch.

Then I had to tell them that I had never received a statement. (I found the other ones later). They immediately blamed gmail, which, if anyone has gmail, you know that they don't let you delete mail, just archive it. Then she said the last statement went out on April 9. Which I didn't get. I even went back through my emails just to make sure. Of course, I keep getting their advertising emails, but no statements. So I had them take me off the online statements, and back to paper. But I'll have to watch and make sure I get a statement from now on.

So my wonderful husband, who knows I have a short fuse to begin with, took the information and started making calls this morning. A short time ago, I received a fax from someone he was dealing with, and right on the credit application is circled 12 months! So now I'm sure he's going to have to take this and fax it over to the credit department, who in turn wants the store to call them and clarify and won't take our word for it, and it's a nightmare. Why me?

You can hardly read this fax. But at least it says right on there, 12 months. That's visible. The Home Depot was our 3rd quote, and the highest of the 3. Not worth it, not for the hassle of the right hand not knowing what the left hand has done.

I hate salesman. At least the ones who sweet talk you to get a commission and then you never see them again.

And to top that all off, last night we noticed the kitchen sink leaking underneath.

Like I told my mom, when it rains, it fucking pours.
